For over 20 years, the NFL Alumni have supported Caring for Kids to benefit children in need through hands-on community service and fundraising events. The Austin Chapter has been touched by the relationships we have developed over the years with the following worthy causes:

Make A Wish Foundation

Dylan Haines, son of chapter president John Haines and current defensive back for the University of Texas Longhorns‬, was named to the Academic All-Big XII team, as well as received Honorable Mention All-Big XII honors for his performance during the 2014 football season. In recognition of his achievement, the chapter presented a $500 donation in his name to Make-A-Wish of Central & South Texas today. Gavin Graham, son of Austin Chapter secretary William Graham and senior at Anderson High School, was honored this evening by the school for his numerous achievements in athletics and academics. These achievements include being named as Honorable Mention All-State Class 6A as a defensive back, and his commitment and acceptance to play football at the Air Force Academy. In recognition of these honors, the Austin Chapter donated $500 in Gavin's name to the Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO), a local organization that brings together other resources and makes them available to the homeless in Austin. Pictured are Gavin's parents, Lisa and William, Austin Chapter president John Haines, Gavin Graham, ECHO executive director Ann Howard, Austin Chapter vice-president and national vice-chairman Raul Allegre, and Austin Chapter board member Stew Myrick.
